It’s Snowing!!!
I woke up to kids going wild and crazy over my head as their bedrooms are on the second floor and mine on the first. I asked Eric if he would go upstairs to put things in order to only find out that he quickly comes back to me to report “It’s snowing out.” Yup, that says it all! The first real snow storm of the year allows for the excuse of waking up Mama and Papa because it is just so exciting and a magical winter wonderland. So no scolding that they were awake too early and/or not doing their “quiet activities” until we come get them. IT’S SNOWING!!!!
Amazingly, this was my verse for the day on my home page that I wake up to every morning…
“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it
without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it
yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that
goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will
accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11I’m sure there are pics to come of kids enjoying the first real snow of the year!
In other news, we are just busy, busy, busy! We have been Christmas shopping, baking cookies for Memere to cheer her up, keeping up with homeschool, art classes (please don’t let me forget these today as we did last week!
), preparing for piano recital and getting excited to spend Thanksgiving with my Mom, Grampa B. and all my silbings including my newest little niece Mariah. Life is good…
PS. I just read the book above and highly recommend it to all families!

Your family is going to have an especially meaningful Thanksgiving I expect ~ right?
Sounds very exciting around your house; I hope and pray your mother is getting better and you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with that beautiful new baby!
ryc. You will be in Cincy over Christmas? I saw that there is/was a missionary conference there. We will be driving home after the Divine Liturgy on Christmas day (we will be home from 12-25 through the New Year. If you are in town it would be great to get together. The creation museum is not to far and Cincinnati has a wonderful Museum Center my kids would be THRILLED to show your children! Three museums under one roof and they are all children friendly! Dinosaurs in the Natural History Museum a hands on Children’s museum, the Cincinnati History museum with Wonderful exhibits from train displays to early settler history. All in all a fantastic place and a “must spend the day” when you are in Cincinnati!!!
Hmm… Slightly different reaction around here. I just spent my lunch break complaining about having to clean off my car and drive in the stuff. Though, I will say that we have been excited since this weekend when we first saw the slopes on the local ski area with snow on them. But snow is for ski slopes not for roads, no?
That is something we miss most years here in Portland.
