Birthday Girls
As per tradition the birthday child gets to pick their own birthday dinner. Without hesitation both girls simultaneously shouted, “PIZZA!” Not just any pizza either! They wanted to go to our family run pizza restaurant that is about an hour away from where we live. Phoebe wanted cheese and Chloe wanted pepperoni. If you can’t tell the pizza is half and half.
Then they enjoyed a delicious, toasty hot cup of cocoa. Good thing they wanted b-day hats otherwise we might look back on these pics and think it was Christmas with that tree in the background! lol
After hours spent in the toy store we went to Great Grampa’s house to share some birthday cake. Chloe wanted “vanilla” cake and Phoebe wanted “chocolate” cake. So I ended up buying them each an individual one again this year. The other cake you can see in the pic with a pink rose was for the rest of us to eat.
CAKE! YUMMY!! I wish you could have seen Phoebe go after her chocolate cake. Her hand was literally shaking from excitement and I think she swallowed each bite whole!
I love this innocent age when they just open a present, hug it and say, “Just what I wanted!” Chloe has never seen this game Bibleland in her life but it was still just what she wanted.
Phoebe did the same thing with pink pajamas she got from her Mini in a picture you will see below.
Below are presents from Grandparents…
Thank you to all our Grandparents! We loved all our presents! It made our day even though some of you were far away. =)
Here the girls are playing with a card they got from their cousins. Kimmy they played with these all night long and went right back to them in the morning! My girls LOVE cards and the reusable stickers were a huge hit. Thank you for your thoughtfulness!
Remember that chocolate cake Phoebe ate?I think the sugar kicked in right around bedtime! This was the ham she was while getting ready for bed.
Oh! Speaking of Phoebe… we have a tradition that if you are the b-day kid you do not have to do any chores on your birthday and that means no making your bed. Well, first you have to understand that Phoebe is my only child that is a neat freak. She goes around picking up after everyone. Not making her bed was just not right in her mind so she made Jared do it. lol Normally the b-day kid is giddy that they get to leave their bed a mess.

That looks like so much fun!
Adorable. Looks like they enjoyed their birthday immensely. They are so sweet all year long; they deserve to have a very special day. Glad that they enjoyed the cards. I thought that they were perfect for them — even though they were all stuck together at the store and I was hoping that they would not return to that condition in the mail. I love the story about making Jared make the bed! Are they up yet to enjoy their snow day?
The kids are so photogenic! A girl needs her own cake on her birthday! Good call.
Too cute!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PHOEBE AND CHLOE!
May God bless you all with many joyful years to come!
BTW I got a huge kick out of the cake-crazy pics!
I love the pictures! You manage to make us readers feel like we’re right there. And I’m finally learning to know Cloe from Phoebe!! I know they don’t look the same but I can never remember which is which.
Happy Birthday to two awesome girls!!
What beautiful girls….and five is such a wonderful age! I love Chloe’s attitude…she’s right…she CAN do anything!
Happy Birthday to your girls. You have some great family traditions. My kids are still young enough that we are developing our traditions.
That bed story has just made me happy all day. For me, a great gift would be giving me something to clean up or organize. I’m right there with her!
What little cuties!! Happy birthday!
