We’re Here!
We arrived safe and sound in Kentucky around 8am this morning after weather and traffic delays. Eric decided to go ahead and push through driving all night since we lost so much time. He wanted to make sure we got to the Christmas festivities at the museum tonight. Eric is presently sound asleep while I am keeping the kiddos nice and quiet. Not a hard task as they too are pretty tired from not getting as well of a good night’s sleep. A little PBS, coloring, book reading, snuggles and hot baths will do them good before heading off to our adventure. Fortunately, I was able to sleep pretty well in the van so I can entertain the kids while Eric sleeps.
The positive of the delays is that we didn’t have to pay for one night’s hotel. There is always a positive right?
The hotel even let us arrive earlier than their 3pm check in so that Eric could get some sleep. I give them two thumbs up for coming to our rescue!
The beginning of our trip. Also knows as what Christmas is like in the Northeast!
We arrived in Kentucky just in time to see the race horses training! How exciting to see them running so fast!!! For some reason xanga won’t let me download more pics so I can’t show you more of the horses. Oh well… I will try later.
I think this would be known as Christmas in Kentucky! We had a good chuckle of the green grass and fall leaves along with the ton of blow up Christmas decorations. The pic really doesn’t do it justice. I have to admit they did a good job considering there is no snow here!

OK…I’m glad I don’t live in the northeast because that picture made me afraid!!!!! The Ken Ham book you pictured is the one I am reading too. It is so good and very informative. Especially when (like me) you have to constantly remind well meaning relatives that dinos did NOT live millions of years ago!!! GGRRR!!!!

Too much stuff in one yard ~ I agree ~
Glad you had a safe trip even with the delays! I can relate to the start of the trip / end of the trip. It’s kind of like that when we drive to Tokyo. Now that you are safely there – ENJOY!!!
Hey, I didn’t know you guys were coming down so early! Welcome (back) to Kentucky!
I’ll probably be seeing you guys on Sunday or sometime during the rest of the conference. Have fun and God bless you all!
PS – Thankfully that house is not an example of the rest of Kentucky. lol.
We ran into a lighted neighborhood last night and enjoyed all the creativity. Blow up decor has gotten popular here too.
Our grass isn’t even green. It’s brown. The high yesterday was 84!
Have a great time.
oh my goodness. that last one is hilarious. its like going home.
