  • You know you have a lot of snow….

…when your two mini dachshunds have walked over your 4 ft. fence twice in one day! I wish I had a pic for you on how they are doing this. It’s rather annoying to have to go chasing after them and of course, there is the worry of them being hit by a car. However, I still can see the humor in it as they only stand about 3 inches off the ground! lol Eric keeps going out and trying to chisel away at the snow around the fence to make it more difficult but we just have so much that it’s impossible.

This is in my back yard. It’s a little confusing because our neighbor decided to side their house the very same color as ours last summer. Your are looking at their house with the corner of ours from our back yard. See how high the snow is against our fence?

Now the back of our house.

After the storm dumped a foot of snow it changed over to rain and ice.

Wet snow means SNOWMAN TIME!!! Because it was raining so much we only made one this time. That snowball was HEAVY!! Jared and I mostly created it together for the base of our snowman. For a few good laughs here is the moment all the kids tried to help us out….

Papa stopped for a quick break from cleaning up the snow to help us put the second ball on and then the kids started to put on his eyes, arms, mouth, nose, hat and buttons.

    Yeah! We finished Frosty!

We have since had another ice storm on top of this that closed down three exits on our highway. A neighbor up the road ended up sleeping over at our house after he couldn’t get up his road upon returning from work. It was glare ice with rain coming down on top! What a crazy winter!! The good news is that Eric’s snowblower and roof rake is now fixed and ready to go.

  • OH MY GOODNESS!!! I have NEVER seen snow like that in all my life! I can see how you stay so skinny, Sarah! That looks like hard work! You look like one of the kids playing out there! Good for you! As for the neighbors and the siding- “imitation is the greatest from of flattery!”

  • Wow…that is alot of snow!

  • where do you live?  that is seriously where i want to go on vacation!  i love snow but like i said before, we don’t get much in atlanta… just a lot of heat in the summer that practically suffocates us.  so i pray for it every year and once in a while we get some flurries.  love the snowman, he is so handsome ;)

  • You know you have lots of snow when all four kids have snowsuits.

  • That is way way to much snow.

  • 1. Ok, my doxie would not be able to get over a 4 inch fence, let alone 4 feet!! Take pictures if it happens again!

    2. I laughed out loud (and I’m at work!) when I saw Phoebe fall over!! I couldn’t help myself!!

    3. I didn’t realize you were out there until Phoebe came into the picture!!

  • Holy cow! That’s a lot of snow! My boys would go bananas over a snowfall like that! Your snowman looks great! Building a snowman as a family is a wonderful relationship builder! The video reminded me of us when we built out snowman last year.
